Plans for spring break.

Today I decided to share some of the things I want to do/will be doing during the Easter holidays so if you guys want some ideas for what you could do then you could take inspiration from this post. I would really like it if you guys commented some of the things you are going to be doing so I can have some new ideas!

1. Film LOTS of videos.
The holidays are always a prime filming time as I have longer days (as I can stay up later!) and more time. I also like to use this as a time to pre-film some videos for the weekends where I'm busy.

2. Write some blog posts.
I've been kind of slacking on posts recently so throughout the break I want to pre-write some spring/summer themed ones, but also some ones about things I've been getting up to.

3. Go to Ikea!!
As it's my sisters birthday this holiday (April 10th if you were wondering), one of the things she wanted was to get some stuff for her room from Ikea. I also want to grab a few bits for my room (i.e. a new desk!) so I'm actually really excited for that trip as who doesn't love homeware? (I promise I'm not a middle aged woman).

4. Getting my room spring/summer ready!
At the moment my room is very autumn winter themed/girly random stuff that I'm not into anymore. I have a lot of floral print stuff which I'm really not into anymore, so I want to re-decorate and put away the winter and old girly floral things and bring out the bright spring/summer colours that are more "me". I also have been obsessed with DIY videos on YouTube at the moment, so I want to try create some of them.

5. Shopping!!
Now who doesn't love a good shopping trip? I have a few planned with some of my friends on different days and will probably do one or two with my family.

6. Pretty Little Liars Catch Up.
I'm only on season 4 and season five has just finished so I want to catch up on that while I have the free time - although I'm sad because twitter decided to tell me who A is.

7. Hanging out with my friends.
I also want to take this break as an opportunity to have some fun days with my friends: movie marathons, sleepovers, all the usual.

I have a few other things up my sleeve but I'm not 100% sure they will be happening,  but if they do, I want to create whole posts on them, instead of just a small mention. Let me know what your plans and ideas are because I would love to know what you guys are up to and some more ideas of what I could do in my free time.

Movie Marathon Gone Wrong..

Today I went to my friend Liv's house with my other friend Kinno. We were planning on having a Hunger Games movie marathon as Mockingjay part one just came out on DVD, but when we got there we decided it was a really nice, warm day (which hardly ever happens in England) so we thought we would make the most of the day and go outside. First we went to this place called Parr's Pool, which was basically a lakey pond thing which was really pretty:

Then we went to what they call "Top Pitch", basically a huge field with a football pitch, where we sat in the sun making daisy chains and talking for ages.

Then finally we planned to go to this Sensory Garden but none of us actually knew where we were going so ended up walking for quite a while and finally got to a road which turned out to be the like main road through their town which was cool because we finally knew where we were. After that we gave up on the sensory garden and instead we just decided to go to the park which was really fun. Through the many fields and woods we walked through (before we found out where we were) we took these pictures:

Overall it was such a great day and I wish we had more days like that. Fingers crossed there will be a few more in the coming spring/summer months. There will also be a vlog of the day being uploaded on my vlog channel on Thursday so if you want to watch that when it's uploaded you can subscribe to that channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/mylifeashad). I hope you liked this style of post as I found it really fun to make, let me know your thoughts and wether I should do more of these like 'Day In My Life' posts? x

Things are changing...

I've decided I want a change. A change of this blog. I feel like I've just been writing posts for the sake of them, all of which have mainly been beauty themed as I never really dedicated time to writing them. I also want to change my blog name and URL so when people come on to it they don't think oh this is going to be beauty themed because that's not how I want it to be.

I've decided I want my blog to be personal, where I can share my thoughts and opinions on things, or stories about things that have happened to me. Thing like my two "different" posts where I talked about haters and standing up for yourself. I want my posts to me more like that and less like the standard "Beauty Guru" blogs where everything is makeup/fashion themed. Which don't get me wrong, I love them, but recently I've been enjoying more chatty/personal blogs, which is the kind of stuff I want to write about.

The topics this blog is now going to be about are:

  • Chatty posts - I want to share experiences/stories or things that have happened. Like funny things.
  • Advicey posts - Kind of like my #HadSays series on YouTube but blog version. Topics like Bullying, confidence and things like that.
  • Photography posts - I've been so into photography recently its like unreal, and I just love taking pictures of things, wether it be places I've been or even just things in my house or my garden.
  • Beauty - I still want to do posts about this considering it is one of the things I love.
  • Fashion - I still want to talk about this because its something I love a lot, especially fashion photography so expect to see some of that.
  • Lifestyle - I want to make posts on things like baking, books, music, travel, all kinds of things.
  • The Future - I want to talk about my dreams, my hopes, my goals, things I want to do.

I've decided to change my blog name to "Thoughts At Thirteen" because I feel like its more true than "A Does Beauty" as I feel it is now more appropriate as these are my thoughts which won't all be beauty related.

I hope you will support me on this decision and if you have anything you want to say please leave it in the comments.

The Fashion Tag.

So I know I don't normally do things like tags on my blog but my good friend Amy (HelloAmyy) tagged me to do this so I decided I would.

1. How would you describe your style?

I don't have a particular style it depends on my mood and what season it is. For winter I tend to wear a lot of black and grey and stick to knitted jumpers, jeans and boots, but in the spring/summer season I tend to wear more pastel/bright shades and more dresses and skirts.

2. What are your wardrobe staples?

<3 Converse
<3  Skinny jeans
<3 Knitted jumpers

3. Most expensive item in your closet?

To be honest I don't really know, probably one of my dresses or some of my Jack Wills things.

4. Most wanted item?

This changes pretty much all the time but currently there is a dress in New Look which I really love, or I would like some grey low top Converse, or a black boyfriend style coat.

5. Favourite Designer?

I don't really have a favourite designer like famous ones but my favourite shop is probably Zara or New Look.

6. How much do you spend on clothes?

It kind of depends on how much money I actually have because some months I will spend £10-£30 but others I won't spend any.

7. Where are your favourite places to shop?

New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Zara, Primark & H&M.

8. Favourite Fragrance?

I am currently obssessed with my Soap and Glory Mist You Madly body mist. It smells amazing!

9. What's your favourite way to do your hair?

Most days I just leave my hair down and straighten it, but if I do put it up it's usually in a side fishtail plait or a regular messy ponytail.

10. What is your go to outfit when you don't know what to wear?

<3 Grey knitted jumper or t-shirt
<3 Black skinny jeans
<3 Black converse
<3 Tartan Boyfriend Style Coat

11. One fashion trend you would come back to stay?

I know it's kind of back already but at the moment I am obsessed with pastels and bright blue for the spring and summer seasons.

Who do you tag?

Maria Beardall
TheJoysOfBeingPaige
and any one else who has a blog that wants to do it.

Stand Up, Speak Out.

Don't keep your feelings bottled up, Stand Up, Speak Up,
and Let It Out

Image result for short self harm recovery quotes

I know I haven't posted in ages, or even attempted to. I'm not going to give you some lame excuse, because at the end of the day, who really cares?

I wanted to write a post today because I've been thinking about a lot of stuff recently, kind of like little thought birds flying around my head. I've had a lot of things going on in my mind and it made me think about something. I have a lot of problems and I'm pretty messed up, but pretty much all of the time I keep it to myself for the fear of being judged, for the fear of making everything worse, which has happened quite a lot. I don't know exactly what I'm trying to say by writing this...

I recently watched the film Cyberbully which has Emily Osment in and it's about a girl called Taylor who gets cyber bullied and is so hurt by it she attempts suicide. In the end she learns that being bullied is not her fault, and it's wrong. She learns to stand up for herself and stand up for others.

"I know you probably think your being funny but you should know your words actually hurt, and I think you should stop attacking people"

This is a quote from the film Cyberbully and it's so true.

Sticks and stones may brake my bones but words can never hurt me. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will cause permanent mental damage.

The second ones about right. It might not be entirely correct for some of you, but for me it is. I will always remember any insult everyone has ever said. No matter how many times I try I can't push peoples words out of my head, they always stay stuck there. Which is something that has caused a lot of problems for me.

Keeping things inside makes it like 10x worse, I know because I've been there, and I still do it. A lot of people do. The best advice I could ever give someone is to talk to someone, a friend, a teacher, a family member, whoever you want. Someone who can help. Because if you don't you will really regret it. I know it can be the scariest thing, but the chances are you will feel so much better if you do.

If your sat on your bed reading this, on a train, in your favourite chair, wherever you are, I want you to know I'm always here.

Bullying can make you feel like your trapped in a cage, and everyone outside is laughing at you. It can be scary to break free of that cage, like worse things will happen if you get out. But 99.9% of the time, breaking out of that cage will feel like the best thing ever. Not going to lie sometimes it won't fix anything, but it's worth a try right?

Stand up, speak out, let people know, because the chances are if they are making you feel bad, they're doing it to other people too. Never feel like you're being selfish by asking for help, even if that person has their own struggles.

You are pretty enough,
You are smart enough,
You are talented enough,
Size doesn't matter,
No one is normal,
Height doesn't matter,
Perfection doesn't exist,
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
Don't be dictated by someone else, you are amazing, you are beautiful, you are smart, you are funny, you are whatever you want to be. You can be whatever you want to be.

Don't keep your feelings bottled up, Stand up, speak up, and let it out.

Your face isn't a mask, don't cover it. Your size isn't a book, don't judge it. Your life isn't a film, don't end it.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Winter Wishlist: Clothing.

Again this is the start of another series on my blog. The series is going to be called "Wishlist". Basically I will pick out some of my favourite items that I want to get each season. Today's post is on my clothing wishlist, but there will also be an winter accessories wishlist and a winter makeup wishlist (which will probably just be new releases). It just so happens that all my picks for this post are from New Look and I promise you I'm not sponsored by them or anything, I've just been really loving that shop recently and have found so many things I want.

1. Black Formal Biker Coat - £39.99

So this first one is something I am completely in love with but I don't think I will ever get the chance to buy it, as it is currently in the New Look sale, which means they will be going soon and I have no money to buy it with, however I do really love it. It's from the teenager section which is called like "915 Generation" or something like that. I don't know why I like it I just do haha, probably because it's black and warm.

2. Brown Metal Trim Loafers - £19.99

These are another thing I may never get to own, as they are also currently in the sale. I have wanted them for quite a while now, but never had the money to buy them (or I brought something else that I wanted more instead). Brown loafers go with pretty much anything which is one reason I like them, but also because they look so classic and simple. I just really like them basically.

3. Grey Boucle Fine Knit Skater Dress - £22.99

I really love this dress, again, probably because it's grey and I love grey it's like my favourite colour. It's just a simple skater dress with short sleeves. I actually only own one dress, I'm not really that confident in dresses, but this year I want to start wearing more. I just think this is a really nice simple dress that would make a really cute winter outfit if I wore it with some knitted tights, some boots, a cosy cardigan and maybe a cute scarf.

4. Dark Red Check Long Sleeve Shirt - £17.99.

I am definitely a fan of checked shirts and this one is so me. I love the darker reds than the brighter ones, so this one is literally perfect. But again, this is in the sale, which means that I probably won't be able to buy it (insert sad face). It's from the 915 Generation section of New Look and I am in love with it.

5. Grey Checklist Coffee Sweater - £14.99.

This has to be like one of the coolest sweaters ever! Like literally, coffee is life. This is just a really casual outfit and I think it would look really cute with plain black or navy skinny jeans and converse. It literally is the perfect clothing piece for a lazy, comfy Monday. I'm not normally a fan of sweaters, I'm more of a knitted jumper and jeans kind of girl, but I think sweater can look cute if they are worn with the right things.

6. Black Cut Out Buckle Strap Ankle Boots - £22.99

These are like the perfect pair of boots for me. They are heeled but the heel is very small so I think they would be really easy to walk in. They are from the teen section but that doesn't really matter to me.

7. Grey Wide Sleeve T-Shirt - £9,99

This is just a really nice simple plain grey t-shirt. It looks quite baggy which I actually really like. I think it would just go with pretty much anything.

8. Black Premium High Waisted Skinny Jeans - £34.99

I only own one pair of plain black skinny jeans which used to fit me but are now somehow to big and really uncomfortable, so I just really want a new pair. I want high waisted ones because I feel like they suit me better. Black jeans go with so much and I know £35 might seem a lot, but I want a good quality pair that are comfortable but will also last a while. I either want to get these or the TopShop Joni Jeans.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what are some of the things you want to get this season!

Favourite Five: Nail Polishes.

This is going to be the first post of a series I've
decided to start called "Favourite Five". Basically in these posts I'm going to talk about my favourite five things from a category, for example todays post is on nail polishes, some of the other ones I'm going to do will be on my favourite five books or my favourite five films. I wanted to share some of my favourite things with you guys, so I thought this would be a nice way. There will probably be a Favourite Five up about twice a month, I'm not too sure yet.

1. Essie "Mint Candy Apple".

Mint Candy Apple is a beautiful mint green colour (as the name would suggest). Essie nail polishes all apply really nicely and are a perfect consistency. This is quite a summery colour, but I have been wearing it recently as it was a Christmas present. I can already tell this is going to be one of my favourites throughout spring and summer. However you do have to apply between two to three coats of this to build it up to a solid colour, which I don't mind that much because it drys very quickly (always a bonus for me as I tend to always smudge wet nail polish on things because I get fed up of waiting for them to dry)

2. Maybellene Colour Show "Blackout"

This is just a perfect Black. I've really been liking black nail polish recently, I think it looks really nice and kind of classic in a way, it's probably just because black is one of my favourite colours but I really do like it. I actually have it on right now, although by the time you guys see this post I will be back at school and banned from wearing any nail polish at all :(. I do find that with this nail polish, it will look okay with only one coat, so it's my go-to when I want something on my nails when I'm rushing, however I do normally use two coats, to stop it chipping so quickly.

3. Barry M Matte Nail Paint "Crush".

This is a beautiful deep red colour, perfect for autumn. I can't count the amount of times I have painted my nails with this. Deep reds are a classic autumn/winter shade and I for one am loving it! I find you need about two light coats of this nail polish to get a good strong colour. It is matte so it's not shinny, which sometimes annoys me, but sometimes I like it. Sometimes I like to put a shinny top coat over the top to stop the matteness (if that's even a word). The one downside to this is that I find you have to really shake it otherwise it goes gloopy.

4. Barry M Nail Paint "Jingle Bells".

This one is definitely the festive edition to this post! You can't beat a bit of glitter for New Years and Christmas! This polish is actually Barry M's special edition Christmas polish for this year. It's gold and red glitter, but it also has little tiny stars in it which I think is so cute - I didn't actually realize until I started painting my nails and ended up with loads of stars randomly dotted around my nails! My only issue with this polish is you have to but a lot on to get enough glitter, you kind of have to blob it so you get a good amount, but I will put up with it because it's so cute!

5. Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish "Apricot Punch".

This is another summery colour, I know it seems a bit weird including summery things now because it's the middle of winter, but these are my top 5 of all time. It's a gorgeous pinky-coral colour and it  really suits my skin tone. It's quite old now, but still works really well. It applies nicely, it's not too gloopy or too runny.

I really recomend all these nail polishes, If you try any out let me know what your thoughts are and I would love to hear some of your recommendations.
